Everything Is Borrowed
So I posted up all the stuff from my L.A. trip for anyone that asked for it. My photos are up on my street-team profile you you'll need to sign up here if you want to go check them out.
Since I've been back, I have pretty much just been writing music. It's been boring not playing shows, but I love writing too so it's not the worst thing in the world. We have about 10 songs that are at various points of completion. There are at least another five or 6 on my mobile phone (yeah, that's how I write music, singing like a dork into my mobile phone while I'm walking down the road or lying awake at 3am).
We are now booking the 2008/09 dates for schools tour. This is going to be a big one, Dan and I called 493 schools last week. It's a pretty mind-numbing job leaving a lot of messages for teachers, but we kept each other going through the week and I am proud of the start we made. For the first time we also have a booking agent, who's sole job is to get us non-schools show. We've heard back from them that things are going well at their end so we'll be up and down the country again before you know it.
The new set will be more of a cohesive show than just us playing a bunch of songs. All the artwork will FINALLY be up on stage, there will be musical links/joins between the songs and some new crowd interaction stuff. I know some people hate it when bands play a "pre-written" set all the time, and that a band should just make it up as they go along, but I like watching a show. We are trying to work in some better dynamics, make the songs fit together better and include other instruments which Kev will control through the wonders of technology.
I literally can not wait until we get back on the road. I didn't know how much I needed it until we had so much time at home this year. I am not good at being here this much - it's not boredom because I work hard in the studio and in my day-job so I always have stuff to do, but it's my mind goes a little numb seeing the same people and having no big adventures. I love my friends and family, but I need abreak from them every now and then I guess.
Right, I will post up with some actual updates soon.
Max x
